Development of community empowerment based on zonation in the Gunung Halimun Salak National Park, Indonesia

Local communities surrounding Gunung Halimun Salak National Park are highly dependent on the national park area. Economic development is crucial to improving livelihood of local around Additionally, ensure that preservation will be supported by communities, activities within can also align with management park. In Indonesia, parks managed through a zonation system, in which potential areas satisfy biophysical conditions considered for support communities. The results study reveal five most potential, namely 1) tourism; 2) conservation partnership schemes; 3) cooperation ecosystem restoration; 4) forest plant cultivation provide seeds economic benefits; 5) utilization services, such water hydroelectric power plants.
